Big&Tall ergonomic office chairs tend to have rather high backs and flat, non-contoured seats, in order to promote an even distribution of the individual’s weight. These particular chairs are designed for those who exceed six feet in height and whose weight does not exceed three hundred pounds. The even distribution of weight for a taller person alleviates the recurrence of the aches and pains that accompany improper posture. Taller individuals already have an increased amount of stress placed on their frame, due to the building of their infrastructure.
Ergonomic chairs are often reserved for those with private offices, and the chair itself may be considered by most as more of a status symbol than an actual useful item. This, however, is not the case. Ergonomic chairs were designed after studies commissioned by concerned businesses revealed that standard chairs were hurting productivity and that business injuries were often related to an employee’s chair.
